In other news, I gave blood today, and learned (or was reminded of) three things:

1) Monday at 5ish is The Right Time for this activity, because no one else makes appointments at that time. I didn't have to spend any time at all in those uncomfortable waiting room chairs! Yay!

2) Monday at 5ish is when the screener (person who does the finger-stick iron test) is a cute guy who will flirt and talk about his love for brainless movies. I must. Remember. This. *makes note*

3) When the nurse manages to hit the sweet spot in my vein that bleeds me out in just over four minutes, the site of the needle-stick hurts like a motherfucker afterwards. Ow.

*gleeful* If you need a permanent link, I'd happily host it on my site for you.

I especially loved the ending - it, um. Strangely made me want to dance. And play with matches? But mostly dance. And ENDING IT ON THE BABY. Horrible, horrible. (Yay!)

Oooo. I would not say no to a permanent link, if you're willing. Thank you!

Yay, dancing! I had such...fun? Sure, we'll go with fun...working clips into the oompah/waltz rhythm, so a dancing reaction is very much appreciated. :)

And ENDING IT ON THE BABY. Horrible, horrible. (Yay!)

Well, you know. He's just so *broken*. (Also, having just allowed myself to watch [info]halcyon_shift's vid, I find it amusing that BAG's apparently going to be this fandom's go-to boy for such things. Next season, every episode should end with Derek looking silently devastated!)

Thank you!

Hi, I was friendsurfing and saw this vid and since I a) discovered my love for vids and b) absolutely adore T:TSCC, I couldn't resist and downloaded it.

It was great! I especially love the ending; that's one of my favourite scene in that show. Derek looks so, broken, and Cameron dancing like that... yes, I do love that ending. And everything that came before :-)

I'd been wanting to vid SCC since 'Demon Hand', and when I heard this song, it was exactly the style I wanted. Musical style vs content juxtapositions are *fun*. *g*

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.

When I first heard that song, I fell for the way it cranked up the crazy apocalyptic waltz at the end; given Cameron's dancing abilities (and Derek's reaction to them), I thought the match worked. *g*

Thank you!

That's really intense--and I *love* that song. Never heard it before, but I love it...

*sigh* I'm going to have to find a way to catch up on SCC, aren't I? (It came along right as I was drowning in deadlines, unfortunately.) Because it has kickass women and apocalyptic themes...but is it something I can follow, if I've never seen the movies?

Well, *I've* never seen the movies, and I'm not confused at all. The show's actually pretty good at spelling out the basic need-to-know info without endless exposition; it has its anvilly moments, but on the whole...waaaaaaatch. *g* (Do you need to be hooked up in any particular way? I could perhaps help out with such things.)

As for the vid: thanks! Intense is good. :)

The use of "clear history" shocked and delighted me so much on my first time watching it, I immediately skipped back 10 seconds to watch it again.

I liked the transition between the circle of terminators, the circle of prayer, and the prisoners in the future. Also the transition from the time machine to the light bulb. Loved the extensive use of Ellison.

"metal" for your valor - ha!

I am sorry to report that Paris is burning after all. - Wow, nice. I am so very creeped out. How will I sleep now?

The "clear history" thing was a happy accident--I'd been intending to use it as my credits shot, but when I was putting together the pictures/video sequence, I realised it worked *so* much better there.

Given the limited options WMM has for making non-cheesy transitions (star wipe! woo!), your comments about them make me very happy. I *really* wanted those ones to work.

I had a choice between Ellison and Charley for my fourth-tier character, and really, there was no choice: Ellison had the stronger story (and it tied in with my theme better than Charley's did), the more interesting involvement with the main three, and the better visuals. Plus, I fear for Ellison, and wanted to give him as much of a moment in the sun as possible. *g*

I...couldn't resist the bad medal/metal pun. I am weak. :)

Thank you for your comments! I'm very glad you liked it.

I loved this. :D I've seen it recced as intense several times, and that's a wonderful word to describe it. I really enjoyed how that tension builds from beginning to end. It's filled with gorgeous imagery set to great pacing. And on top of all that it really feels like it encompasses the entirety of the universe they've shown so far. :)

Yay! Your comments are very pleasing to me. *g* When I watch the show, I feel like it's progressing, steadily and unstoppably no matter what the characters do, towards Judgment Day; I wanted to try to put across at least a little of that feeling in the vid, and since your comment suggests I succeeded at least a little...I am pleased. *g*

Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it. :)

I recced the vid over here. The relevant part is this:

"[info]serrico's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles's vid Paris Is Burning is a general overview of the first season with spot on editing and a great song choice. I love the sense of movement and how it creates a building frenzy and desperation in the vid. Very well done. Warning: It does, of course, have spoilers through the first season."

This is such a faithful rendition of this show. You represent everyone so well that I don't even know what to say. I watch it over and over again. And ending it with the scene of Derek watching Cameron...it just sums it all up. The look of devastation. Just like the entire situation. Great job.

Such a strong and powerful song paired with the strong and powerful, yet vulnerable characters. Great use of the ballet pieces and matching camera moves at :50-1:03. I feel dense for not seeing the "hang in there" that you so artfully point out. I also love how you worked the two views in the 1:40s. My favorite part is the heavy 1:50s with the use of the claps. The circle theme you brought out is visually thrilling as well.

I started out with one idea for what I wanted to do with this vid ("my show is shiny! la la la!"), but once I actually began laying down clips, I realised the song needed there to be more going on ("...rain of blood and toads"). The bits you pointed out in your comment mostly relate to the "more going on" I tried to include, so: thank you! It's a relief to know that, apparently, I was able to make that stuff work. :)

I'm glad you liked it!

reviewed! I said: Waltzing with machines is the best way I can describe this. And the humans are losing that chess game. In the tradition of vids that render violence as dance, this portrait of a war seductively traces the relentlessness of a technological enemy. The theme is perfectly captured in its second shot of the world as the Terminator's snow globe. Check out 1:27-1:28, but I'm probably most gleeful about the flourish of data from 1:48-1:58.

Ooh, thank you for the lovely review! Dancing and game-playing are such human activities; when I made the vid, I was struck by how the show's Terminators tend to *appropriate* such things without necessarily *understanding* them. I find it an interesting mirror to the arrogance of humanity in striving for technological advances that--in the future--will destroy it.

Anyway. Thank you! :)
